I wasn't invited but it was a memorable weekend all the same.. On Thursday night the crowds started to gather in town, news crews, paparozzi, tourists, etc.. After the fact it was hilarious to me that all the tourists standing in front of the Beekman Arms with their cameras were waiting for people who in fact hadn't been invited to the wedding: B. Streisand, Steven Speilberg, et. al.
On Saturday morning my son set up a Limeaid stand in front of our house. Half of his customers were news crews, including one from Japan; they all interviewed him. He's very well spoken and charming, etc., and wound up on WCBS AM and Channel 7 (WABC).. I DVRed the Channel 7 thing and will put it on his YouTube page in the near future..
In the evening Ione and I took the kids for Chinese food at this place on the waterfront by the train station; according to the rumor mill there were supposed to be fireworks at the wedding site sometime after sundown so we walked over by the river after dinner and ran into some people we knew who had a nice spread of food and wine laid out. We visited, hung out, waited for the fireworks that never came.. All in all it was a lot of fun.
The next morning, early, I got driven to LaGuardia Airport and spent the next 10 days working on the soundtrack to a movie called "Losers Take All". Watch this site for more info about that..
